Happy And Succeeding: For Those Who Have Blind Ambition To Achieve Great Things
3 In 4 Americans Say They’re Concerned About ‘Widespread’ Layoffs
On the whole, the U.S. job market is doing fairly well — the most recent national unemployment rate came in at a cool 3.5%. And yet, if you’ve been reading economic news lately, you might still be worrying about the future. A new survey from business analytics company Morning Consult finds that three-quarters of Americans fear widespread layoffs. Another sizable chunk of workers fear that their own jobs could end up on the chopping block, suggesting that low unemployment numbers aren’t enough to reassure employees who are growing anxious about their own workplaces.
How Washington Allowed Bank CEOs To Pocket Huge Bonuses Amid Failure
The 44-page PowerPoint presentation to federal banking regulators was clear and direct: Letting companies pay their chief executives in stock that the CEOs could sell while still working for the companies risked disaster. Years of research showed that the existing structure for paying Wall Street executives led them to take much bigger gambles with their institutions because they benefited from stock price increases, Sanjai Bhagat, a finance professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder, warned Securities and Exchange Commission attorneys and economists in a closed-door meeting in November 2016.

Do Kwon Challenges SEC’s Jurisdiction in Multibillion-Dollar Crypto Securities Fraud Case
Attorneys defending the co-founder of Terraform Labs, Do Hyeong Kwon, also known as Do Kwon, have presented their argument that says the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has no jurisdiction in the matter. The legal team asserts that U.S. law precludes regulators “from using federal securities law to assert jurisdiction over the digital assets in this case.”
Tech Companies Are Finally Firing Tech Workers
If you were unlucky enough to have lost your job in the last 15 years, someone might have suggested — often unhelpfully — that you “learn to code.” It was shorthand for “do something actually useful that would have kept you from being laid off in the first place.” That advice is starting to feel even less welcome.

What You Need To Know About Finding And Working With Recruiters
Job hunters go through a cycle. Their initial instinct will be to go to LinkedIn and online job boards and submit their résumés to as many jobs as possible. The lack of responses will make them feel despondent. The job seeker asks their co-workers and friends if they have any leads on job opportunities. Once in a while, they do have a connection, but more often than not, the tip goes nowhere. Now is about the time when the job seeker will think about enlisting the help of a recruiter.
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai’s Compensation Topped $200 Million In 2022
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai received $226 million in total compensation in 2022, most of which came through stock awards, according to a securities report filed by the company on Friday. Pichai was awarded $218 million in equities last year through a triennial stock grant. His annual salary was $2 million from 2020 to 2022, the filing stated. The CEO’s compensation package also included almost $6 million for personal security in 2022.
Coinbase CEO Urges Congress To Intervene On Crypto Regulation
In an April 21 tweet, Armstrong said it is “important for regulators to set policy and THEN enforce it. Not start with enforcement before there are clear rules.” He argued that U.S. lawmakers may need to reign in the SEC to prevent the country’s crypto space from falling behind. The tweet stated: “At this point seems like Congress will need to step in.” The Coinbase CEO’s call for Congress’ intervention came after he met with the SEC. Before the meeting, Armstrong said the financial regulator had caused untold harm to America with its regulation-by-enforcement approach.
Melinda French Gates’ Former Chief Of Staff Shares The Most Important Interview Question To Nail
At the tail end of almost every job interview, when you’re probably relieved that it’s over, the person across from you asks, “Do you have any questions for me?” I get why so many people consider it a throwaway. Job candidates are focused on giving the right answers. It’s the interviewer who’s supposed to be asking the questions. But precisely because most people don’t give it much thought, “Do you have any questions for me” is the greatest missed opportunity in the job application process.
