Having excuses is a seductive way to get out of doing something you want, but are too afraid to act on. If you want to procrastinate, it’s never the right time to start something new—like a job search, asking for a promotion and raise, or getting involved with a gig-economy side hustle. There will always be a convenient reason why now is not a good time.
Start Your First Week Of A New Job Like A Boss
You accepted a job offer, started a new position and want to shine. People formulate opinions within the first few moments of meeting and speaking with you. Right from the start, you want to shape the perceptions of how your manager, executives and co-workers think of you.
Red Flags Signaling You May Be Selected For A Layoff
Right now, the job market doesn’t feel like it was a month ago. Inflation is spiraling out of control. The cost of everything is exorbitant. Goldman Sachs Pushed Staff To Return To The Office. Now The Wall Street Bank Is Giving Executives Unlimited Time Off
Goldman Sachs emerged as one of the strongest advocates of a post-pandemic return to the office this year, but the fight for talent could be forcing the investment bank to reverse course and offer employees more time away from their desks instead. At the time, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos sided with Chappelle and now he’s doubled down by telling employees that if anyone is going anywhere, it should be them.
