Here’s What To Do If You’re Feeling Burnout From What’s Happening In Ukraine
We dealt with Covid-19, the Delta variant then Omicron. Each time, it felt that life would get better, but it didn’t for many. It was two long years of stress, anxiety and fear. For a brief moment in time, there was some hope. Cases declined, mask mandates and other restrictions were lifted and the overall mood of the nation and world improved. Then, Russia invaded Ukraine.
Axie Infinity’s Play-To-Earn ‘Smooth Love Potion’ Gaming Has Changed Lives And Lifted People Out Of Poverty
Axie Infinity is a play-to-earn game, in which players can buy, breed and pit Pokémon-type characters—called Axies—against each other, in an effort to win in-game cash, known as smooth love potions (SLP). These potions can then be exchanged for real money. Play-to-earn is a business model in which players are rewarded with cryptocurrency, in exchange for playing a game. Each Axie is a non-fungible token (NFT) that can be bought or sold. To begin battles, players must have at least three Axies, with the cheapest costing around $200. In 2020, the most valuable monster was sold for 300 Ethereum—worth over $130,000 at the time.

Elizabeth Warren Says Wall Street ‘Undermining’ Russia Sanctions
Senator Elizabeth Warren, a vocal critic of Wall Street, said banks are “undermining” sanctions on Russia by snapping up the nation’s corporate bonds and suggesting clients buy assets on the cheap. In a statement released late Friday, she called out market makers JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. following a Bloomberg report that the two banks had been purchasing beaten-down bonds. Banks routinely scoop up debt because clients asked them to, or because they expect to find ready buyers.
The IT Department Was Asked To Spy On Co-Workers—It Didn’t Go Well
The more we’ve come to rely on technology, the more we’ve lurched toward surveillance. In one sense, it’s all too human. Who trusts anyone these days? I’ve never been the same since reading the tale—posted to Reddit last year—of a company that used an IM system that offered three status choices: idle, available, or in a meeting. This fine system registered an employee as “idle” if they didn’t touch their keyboard for five minutes.

Employees Want More Freedom—Here’s How To Give It Without Spoiling Your Team
Out of all the things we have heard about the pandemic, one of the more obvious facts is that employees have, in general, appreciated the value of working with autonomy, freedom, and flexibility. This is arguably the main trigger underpinning the growing demand for hybrid work, and why some people are not just quitting their jobs, but even employment altogether, when they are not given freedom.
