The National Football League has initiated a "digital athlete" partnership with Amazon’s AWS division to help deploy artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance player health and safety. The technology initiative studies players' actions during training, practice and games, Fox Business News reported. The partnership between the NFL and Amazon AWS will be adopted across all 32 NFL clubs, in an effort to offer personalized injury prevention insights and improvements in player safety.
The Digital Athlete helps teams make data-driven decisions to determine the training regiment, reducing potential injuries, while also enhancing players’ performances.
In addition to the NFL, professional sports teams across the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball and other sports leagues are leveraging AI to build athlete performance and health safety, aiming to prevent career-ending injuries, as well as enhance the skills and careers of all parties involved, including the pro athletes, coaches, doctors and marketing teams.

Cisco To Cut Thousands Of Jobs
Cisco is planning to cut thousands of jobs as it restructures its business, according to a report. The San Jose, California-based network giant is trying to turn its focus on high-growth areas, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters. However, the exact number of layoffs hasn't been determined yet, a source said.
Workforce Reductions Are Being Fueled By Efficiency
NYU Clinical Professor of Human Capital Management Anna Tavis told Yahoo Finance Live that during the pandemic there were "a lot of opportunities" as remote work dominated. However, Tavis believes that the current job cuts are being driven more by efficiency than overhiring. Companies are now focused on trimming head counts for optimization rather then account for excessive pandemic staffing.
Layoffs Hit SiriusXM
atellite audio firm SiriusXM is trimming its global workforce by about 3% in an effort to become “more efficient, agile, and flexible,” CEO Jennifer Witz wrote in a memo to employees. The company last year unveiled a significant revamp of its app and has made a series of talent deals in a push into podcasts.
“We made significant progress on the transformation of our business in 2023, but we have just begun to scratch the surface of what is possible here at SiriusXM,” Witz wrote in the memo. “To continue on our path to future subscriber growth and sustain our company’s success as the competitive landscape evolves, it’s imperative that we become even more efficient, agile, and flexible. Therefore, today we are making several organizational changes, including the difficult decision to eliminate certain roles, which will allow us to move faster and collaborate more effectively in support of our long-term objectives.”
Use This Tactic In Your Next Salary Negotiation
More than a dozen states, cities, counties and Washington, D.C. have passed pay disclosure laws, where employers of a certain size are required to list the salary range of an open job. And more than 1 in 4 workers in the U.S. now lives in a place where they’re entitled to see pay ranges on job ads. But once you have that information, how can you actually leverage pay ranges to negotiate a job offer?
If you’re interviewing for a position that states the salary range is $100,000 to $150,000, in an interview with the hiring manager or recruiter, ask: “Can you tell me what skills and experiences separate the $100,000 candidate from the $150,000 candidate?”
This question will prompt the interviewer to explain their compensation strategy for the role. For example, they might say a candidate in the top end of the range has a certain number of years in the field, managed a certain number of people, led specific projects or is an expert in specific skills.
Use this information to then shape what skills and accomplishments you can discuss based on your own background. The key is to repeat these qualities throughout your interview, Howell says, to help build your case for why you’re a star candidate.
Should The U.S. Adopt The ‘Right To Disconnect’ Bill To Combat Burnout?
A new Australian plan to give workers a “right to disconnect” from after-hours emails or phone calls from their supervisors is making headlines around the world. It wouldn’t be a bad idea for the U.S. and other countries, if it allows for reasonable exceptions.
The bill, which was approved by Australia’s Senate on Feb. 8, would allow workers to ignore after-hours office calls, and prevent companies from punishing employees for doing so. It is almost certain to pass the House of Representatives and become law, according to Australian press reports.
“Someone who is not being paid 24 hours a day shouldn’t be penalized if they’re not online and available 24 hours a day,” Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Feb. 7.
The proposed new Australian law seems to confirm a growing global trend toward limiting working hours to help reduce burnout. France, Germany, Belgium and Italy, among other countries, have passes similar laws in recent years.
