Smart Companies Will Win The War For Talent By Offering Employees Uniquely Customized Work Styles
What if we’ve all been looking at work the wrong way? For over 50 years, people labored away in office buildings five days a week. Commuters spent hours each day trekking into big cities. Once they’ve arrived, the next eight-plus hours were spent sitting at a desk, staring at a computer screen and counting down the clock until it’s time to leave. The Covid-19 pandemic has dramatically changed everything. One of the positive aspects of the outbreak was that it made us start thinking about our work-lives. Before the virus, we did things because of a “we’ve-always-done-it-this-way” mindset.

Amazon Will Leave Remote Work Decisions To Individual Team Leaders In New Policy Twist
Amazon no longer plans to bring corporate employees back to the office en masse in early January but will instead leave the decisions to individual team leaders at the director level, CEO Andy Jassy told employees Monday morning in an internal email. This means there won’t be a companywide expectation on the number of days that corporate employees work in the office. Previously, Amazon set a “baseline” of three days a week in the office, and two days working remotely, as part of its preference for an “office-centric” culture. Amazon’s new approach signals greater flexibility.

SEC Chief to Wall Street: The Everything Crackdown Is Coming
The joke in Washington is that Gary Gensler could inspire his own version of the game, “Drink Every Time…” The rules: Down a shot every time the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission chief says he’s “asked the staff” to consider new regulations. Gensler has “asked the staff” about oversight for crypto — drink. For online brokers — drink. For green investment funds — drink. During two recent congressional hearings, Gensler used the phrase no fewer than 30 times, enough, one lobbyist quipped, to induce alcohol poisoning.
