New York City Is Pushing Hard For People To Get Vaccinated: What Happens If Workers Decide Not To Return?
The surge of the Delta variant has prompted New York City and state officials to take swift action. This week, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio recommended that residents of the city wear masks when inside with crowds, even if you’re vaccinated. The Mayor will also be initiating a “Key to NYC Pass,” which is like the Covid-19 passport talked about a few months ago. It’s a carrot-and-stick approach, as people will be required to show that they are vaccinated if they want to go to restaurants, gyms and other events. No vaccinations, no entrance. “If you want to participate in society fully, you’ve got to get vaccinated,” de Blasio proclaimed. “If we’re going to stop the Delta variant, the time is now,” said the mayor. “This is going to make clear, you want to enjoy everything great in this summer of New York City? Go get vaccinated.”

In an interview with CBS’ Face The Nation, Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank president Neel Kashkari made a disturbing comment about how the job market may be disrupted. Kashkari said about the sudden surge of the Delta variant, “It’s creating a bunch of caution.” His statement may seem innocuous, but it has serious repercussions.

Tyson Foods Will Require Its 120,000 U.S. Workforce To Get Vaccinated
Meatpacker Tyson Foods announced Tuesday that it will require its 120,000 U.S. employees to be vaccinated fully this year and will pay them a $200 bonus to do so. The company said 56,000 U.S. employees have been vaccinated. Office workers face a deadline of Oct. 1 to be vaccinated fully, while plant employees have until Nov. 1.
