Job Seekers Flock To Jobs With Hiring Bonuses, Study Shows
Employers are turning to bonuses to lure potential workers—as hiring lags job openings — a move that appears popular among job seekers. Job postings advertising hiring incentives more than doubled compared with last year, according to data by Indeed, with 4.1% of postings including them in the week ending June 18 versus 1.8% for the same week last year. At the same, job searches for such bonuses jumped 134% since January.

Though many day traders began due to boredom amid the Covid-19 pandemic, a new survey from digital investment advisor Betterment found several different reasons investors are continuing to day trade. When asked what their motivation for day trading is, 58% of respondents who day trade said they want to “make more money in a shorter period of time,” according to the data from Betterment and research company Market Cube, who surveyed 1,500 investors over the age of 18 between April 26, 2021 to May 3, 2021. They survey examined how both day trading and the rise of interest in so called “meme stocks” affect financial decisions.

Football star Tom Brady, who recently came out as a bitcoin bull, acknowledged that prices have dropped since he revealed his support for the cryptocurrency publicly. The seven-time Super Bowl champion in early May changed his Twitter profile photo to include “laser eyes,” which is what many bitcoin enthusiasts do to show their “laser focus” to push prices higher. Bitcoin’s price has fallen nearly 40% to $34,665 on Monday from $56,245 on the day Brady changed his avatar, according to Coin Metrics.
