The founder of a successful recruitment company is advocating for five-hour days and four-day weeks, saying the COVID-19 pandemic proves we’re able to adapt to new ways of working. In a piece for Forbes, senior contributor and WeCruitr founder Jack Kelly said last year’s lockdowns “shattered the myth” we need to be in the office every day. He says it’s “high time we confront other work taboos as well”—including the requirement to work eight-hour days and five-day weeks.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s gesture for people to drink water instead of Coke at a Euro 2020 press conference may have cost the soda company $4 billion in market value. Coca-Cola shares dropped from $56.17 to $55.22 after Ronaldo moved two Coke bottles out of view and picked up a bottle of water before Portugal’s match against Hungary on Monday.
Jobless Claims Show Surprise Increase To Highest Level In A Month
Initial jobless claims unexpectedly rose last week despite an ongoing recovery in the U.S. employment market, the Labor Department reported Thursday. First-time filings for unemployment insurance for the week ended June 12 totaled 412,000, compared with the previous week’s 375,000. That was the highest number since May 15. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been expecting 360,000 new claims for last week.

Coinbase’s Co-founder Said In An Interview That 90% Of NFTs Would Soon Be Worthless And That People Shouldn’t Dismiss Dogecoin
Coinbase cofounder Fred Ehrsam said in an interview with Bloomberg TV on Wednesday that 90% of NFTs would eventually be worthless and that people shouldn’t dismiss dogecoin. Ehrsam also described decentralized finance as the “bleeding edge” of the blockchain world and said there was a danger that the US would get bitcoin regulation wrong. He added that Elon Musk and Bill Gates should reconsider their criticisms of bitcoin’s energy use.
